Swingset Safety Tips

~ The heads of bolts and nuts should be recessed. Children can catch clothing on them.

~ Use pliars to close all S-hooks once swings are hung.

~ Try to make sure swing seats are not too big, heavy or bulky. If a child is hit, it could result in serious injury.

~ Examine anything with moving components to make sure there are no pinch points in which fingers can be caught.

~ Slides and other parts of the set shouldn't be too tall because the most typicaln accident is falling.

~ Grass is poor padding. Use other cushioning, such as foam rubber beneath the set.

~ On wooden sets, look for a good grain that is well-sanded and finished.

~ Parents should periodically check all equipment to see if anything is worn.
